YOU (Season 1&2)

Finally got to watch this really intense yet so good psychology thriller called “YOU”. Developed by Greg Berlanti and Sera Gamble, You is based on the books “You”( season 1) and “hidden Bodies” (season 2). The series has a very intense storyline with pinch of romantic goals which turn into nightmares for the loved ones of the protagonist in both the season. The first season follows the story of Joe Goldberg, a bookstore manager in New York, who upon meeting Guinevere Beck, an aspiring writer, becomes infatuated with her. He feeds his toxic obsession using social media and other technology to track her presence and remove obstacles to their romance. In the second season, Joe Goldberg moves from New York to Los Angeles to escape his past, and starts over with a new identity. When he meets avid chef Love Quinn, Joe begins falling into his old patterns of obsession and violence. As Joe attempts to forge a new love in the City of Angels, he strives to make his relationship with Love succeed at all costs, to avoid the fate of his past romantic endeavours.
Penn Badgley aka Joe Goldberg does a phenomenal job with his character, like you fall for the characters manipulations and romantic charm unknown, by his scary and disturbing thought proceses. Actresses Elizabeth Lail as Guinevere Bec( season 1) and Victoria Pedretti as Love Quinn (season 2) also do amazing with their respective roles. With a simple cinematography, good location and simple display of intense emotions does its job of hooking you through both the seasons.
Overall , “YOU ” season 1&2 are one of those few seasons who keep up with their content and maintain or increase the level of suspense and thrill. So if have yours, brothers, cousins or girlfriends Netflix account password, Do consider this in your “must watch” list.
